Franz Kaindl, born 1932 - Painter and Manager
Franz Kaindl, himself a painter, graphic and mosaic designer in Gaweinstal,
pleads for the interests of artists as President of the Country Association of
Artists in Lower Austria. He organizes exhibitions for them in Austria and
abroad and collects data about live and dead colleagues in the "Documentation
Centre of Modern Art in Lower Austria" in St. Pölten.
In this position and as colleague he accompanied Maria Ohmeyer for some years
and thus he is able to interpret her works. |

Among the great number of painting women Maria Ohmeyer is one of the few ones,
whose artistic work is lasting, comparable with Tina Blau or Olga Wisinger
Florian.
Like Berthe Morisot she favours pastels, which represents the rich palette of
her artistic gift. She is very impulsive, well-trained after Austrian
painting-tradition.
The "Meeting" between Elisabeth und Mary doesn´t express the joy at the
approaching event, but the presentiment of coming burden and motherhood, being
dependent on the mercy of birth, motherhood and death.
She is always kept busy facing the fact of being helpless as human being, as
artist and as woman. |
