In her oil-paintings the vehemence of applying paint increases, the brushwork seems to be more decided [...] The red colour in all variations gets a certain meaning within the colourful realization and finally there is really not a single picture without a red stump. In her self-portraits she always painted herself retrospective, that means, in fact, she was far older than the portraits represented her.
